Looking at baptismal records in Jaro church records. The original Montinola was Capitán Don Juan Montinola. The records mentions him as captain of several soldiers who had their children baptized in Jaro. The earliest date was in 1781. To most of us, he is our link to our ancestry in Europe.

A book titled, "Breaking The Silence," was written and authored by Lourdes Reyes-Montinola. The author's account on Japanese atrocities during the liberation of Manila in 1945.
