Montinola Trivia
The original Montinola, Juan Montinola, was the 13th Governor of Antique during the 1786-1787 term. During those days in Antique, governors usually had a varied term span from a short one year to several years.  The 12th Governor before Juan Montinola was Juan Salgado (1783-1785) and after him, the 14th Governor was Pedro Vargas y Hombrona, his term spanning from 1788 to 1792.

The Montinolas immigrated to the Philippines from Spain and settled in the town of Jaro, Iloilo. It is said that all Montinolas are related and that they all originated from the town of Jaro.
