The Montinolas were known to have left the port of Málaga, Spain to
their destination, the
Philippines, known then as Las Islas Filipinas. The earliest
recorded date is as old as 1781. Now the clan has reached 9 generations
since their arrival.

The Montinolas immigrated to the Philippines from Spain and settled in
the town of Jaro, Iloilo. It is said that all Montinolas are
related and that they all originated from the town of Jaro.
